This course combines classroom instruction with practical exercises to reinforce essential detection and emergency-response skills.

Participants must:

• Present valid government-issued photo identification.

• Be able to understand and communicate in English sufficiently to complete all required course activities and assessments.

• Demonstrate the ability to:

o Properly don a respirator mask and breathe from a supplied-air system.

o Safely don and doff a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

o Physically participate in practical rescue-drag exercises.

What You'll Learn

  • This course prepares workers to operate safely in workplaces where hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) may be present.
  • Participants will learn how to recognize the properties and dangers of H₂S, assess and control potential exposure hazards, use appropriate respiratory protective equipment, and respond effectively to an H₂S release.
